Undem’s presentation, which is sponsored by the Traill County Economic Development Commission, will be held at 7 p.m., Aug. 8 in the Luckasen Room in the Campus Center at MSU.
“We love bringing in speakers – especially those with the passion, enthusiasm and excitement Rebecca has for small towns,” said Jim Murphy, TCEDC’s executive director. “Rebecca strives to help communities grow to be places people love to call home and we are excited to have her share that message here .”
Undem’s weekly podcast “The Growing Small Towns Show” focuses on small-town life and how communities can take advantage of the strengths of North Dakota’s small-town lifestyle and culture. “The Growing Small Towns Show” is a non-profit organization that operates in the southeast part of North Dakota.
Based in Oakes, the organization strives to build communities by nurturing their human, social and cultural capital.
“Our communities in Traill County share so many of the same problems and opportunities as the communities Rebecca works with currently,” Murphy said. “Inviting her to share some of her experiences and examples of successes can help inspire similar growth and pride in all the Traill County cities and citizens.
“We are encouraging any of our citizens and leaders in our communities who are looking for some new ideas and energy to attend and we are hoping to have a wide and varied audience,” added Murphy.
