Nodak Electric is a public utility cooperative based in Grand Forks serving as the electric distribution utility in a portion of northeast North Dakota, including rural Traill County. Nodak Electric provides power to more than 14,000 customers. See Nodak's website for more information.

Xcel Energy is an electricity and natural gas energy company offering energy-related products and services to 3.3 million electricity customers and 1.8 million natural gas customers. Dakota Natural Gas
Dakota Natural Gas has a local service center in Hillsboro, and currently provides services to Hillsboro, Mayville and Portland - with a variety of points in between. The company focuses on providing natural gas service to rural communities where natural gas previously wasn't available, including those in Traill County, who gladly welcomed DNG to the county in 2021.
