Application & Procedure
Permits are needed for all residential properties (including FRE) and for all commercial properties located in these townships. Permits are not needed for grain bins and farm building/sheds. You may access the BUILDING PERMIT (PDF) online, or you can contact us at the office. If your township is not listed below, please contact your township officer for information.

Procedure
- Fill out permit form.
- Have township officer approve permit.
- Drop off or send permit with applicable fee (check payable to Traill County Treasurer)
Fees
- $25 for improvements $10,000 and under
- $50 for improvements $10,001 to $100,000
- $100 for improvements over $100,000
Improvement Exemption
- For structures at least 25 years old
- 2 year exemption
- Must have an APPROVED building permit for the project prior to approval for an exemption
